Following on from a community consultation in 2016, Ardura forest was purchased.  There is a strong determination to restore the ecology of the site for the maximum biodiversity benefit & this will be informed in part by understanding the cultural & historical use & management of the land as well as the current condition & variety of species already present.  This grant is matched funding to enable a detailed rewilding action plan to be created, to provide the necessary baseline survey data to underpin the work as well as identify key milestones along with measurable & achievable outcomes & activities to begin the rewilding.
