This youth-led project will systematically gather data on the Wester Ross Marine Protected Area (MPA).  More than ten years after the MPA’s designation, it has potential to become a flagship example of marine recovery, however a lack of scientific monitoring makes it challenging to provide an accurate picture of improved biodiversity.

The award-winning Ullapool Sea Savers will conduct weekly boat-based surveys, feeding data into national citizen-science programmes.  In addition to improving understanding of marine life, the project will also train and empower young people to be future stewards of their coastal environment.
