£5,900 awarded
Grantee: Dunnet Forest Trust
Amount: £5,900
The project will create and improve habitats beneficial to priority species in Dunnet Forest, specifically, the Small Blue Butterfly, the Great Yellow Bumblebee and the Scottish Primrose. The Trust also aims to trial methods for the removal and control of invasive plant species in the forest, in this case, cotoneaster, snowberry and sea buckthorn. An existing workforce of 38 volunteers will trial and establish structured habitat restoration methods, demonstrating that increasing biodiversity in the forest is achievable at different levels of scale.
