HIEF in the news

We are excited to share a number of news articles off the back of last summer’s ‘Press Tour’.

In September 2024, we hosted a joint ‘Press Tour’ with The European Nature Trust (TENT) to showcase the work of some of our amazing grantees and, by reflection, increase awareness of HIEF. Eight journalists, from various news outlets and magazines, joined us for a week-long trip through the Highlands. Starting at Alladale Wilderness Reserve, Sutherland, and finishing in Ardfern, Argyll we visited a variety of HIEF funded projects.

We hope these news articles raise awareness of the unique and pressing environmental challenges facing the Highlands and Islands, and the inspiring solutions that local communities are pioneering.
